Each year a new group of students at Westport’s Academy of Dance begins their adventure in learning the art of Pointe work. Besides all the glamor and beauty that is most often associated with pointe shoes, there also requires a lot of work. Careful preparation is taken to make sure each student to physically capable to take on this dance style.

Attention Parents and Young Dancers! Want to master the skill of putting your own hair or your daughter’s into a classical ballet bun? We have the video for you!  Wearing your hair in a bun gives you the look of a ballet dancer and eliminates distractions messy hair may cause. Westport Academy of Dance asks that girls 3rd grade and up, attend all ballet classes with their hair pulled back in a classical ballet bun.
