Our pre-professional advanced students have studied at New York City Ballet, ABT, Boston Ballet, The Rock School of the Pennsylvania Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Kirov, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Interlochen Arts Academy & Walnut Hill. We have also had students attend The Broadway Theater Dance Project with Anne Reinking, and numerous musical theatre summer programs.
We believe that dance is a gift, an art that needs to be developed. A dancer’s body is his or her instrument, and through a structured program of challenging and concentrated work our students learn to access the artist within them. By teaching our students how to discipline their minds and train their bodies, they are able to joyfully interpret and recreate movement of any genre.
The gleam in the eyes of the little one putting on ballet slippers for the first time, the smile that widens from ear to ear as the applause rises from beyond the stage lights at recital, the tear on the cheek of the graduating senior as she dances in her last Nutcracker—these fleeting moments become memorable ones for children and their families. Our teachers, whose love of dance may have begun with just such a moment, are committed to every child’s care and education in dance. Dance cultivates sensibility, poise, and confidence, and our students carry these traits with them throughout their lives.
