Celebrating the Art and Joy of Dance for 45 Years
In a private facility Westport’s Academy of Dance offers classical ballet, pointe, partnering, jazz, tap, modern, and hip hop instruction. We stage Recital performances for all ages and levels along with our annual productions of The Nutcracker and Alice. We offer tailored programs for both the serious dancer and the recreational dance student with a focus on the discipline of dance as an enjoyable foundation for a child’s growth.

We Believe Dance is a Gift - An Art that Needs to be Developed
A dancer’s body is his or her instrument, and through a structured program of challenging and concentrated work our students learn to access the artist within them. By teaching our students how to discipline their minds and train their bodies, they are able to joyfully interpret and recreate movement of any genre.

We Hope these Fleeting Moments Become Memorable Ones for Children and their Families
Perhaps the most rewarding elements of our program are seen in the kinship our dancers form - the lead by example and related principles our dancers are taught as they matriculate through the school and become role models for younger students.
Our teachers, whose love of dance may have begun with just such a moment, are commited to every child’s care and education in dance.
