Spring 2021 Live Performances
Westport's Academy of Dance is thrilled to announce our upcoming Spring 2021 Live Performance Showcase!
Seven days of live performance in front of live audiences in a safe and state-of-the-art performance space at The Klein Memorial Auditorium
Performances will be staged in a format that allows families and their invited guests to witness behind-the-scenes Rehearsals and the following Scene Performances - live!
Our intention is to create a unique, enjoyable, and safe celebration over these seven days, where dancers can showcase all of their hard work to families and invited guests in this true live theater environment.
A real-time livestream of all Performances will also be offered to all Academy Families.
Scheduled Performances
2021 Showcase Format
All Performances will take place during after school hours
Each scene/dance will have a designated start and finish time (much like our Dress Rehearsal format) - however the entire time slot will be open for families and their invited guest audience to attend!
Dancers will be dress rehearsing each scene/dance... the stage design will shift, and the scene performance will follow within the same designated time slot - a chance to see how your dancer prepares then transitions for the audience!
Performing one scene/dance at a time keeps the number of people in the building lower - and therefore this approach allows us to sell additional Academy family member and invited guest tickets per scene/dance!
Tickets purchased for each show will be an all access pass to any scene/dance in that show - we encourage dancers and their families to support their peers by attending as many scenes/dances as they wish!
Volunteer obligations are no longer necessary - we want all parents, students (when not performing) and invited guests to sit back and enjoy the Performances as part of the essential live audience!
The Academy will not hold regular classes on the days Recital Performances are scheduled - typically Dress Rehearsals take the place of regularly scheduled classes the week prior to recital so in this case students will be learning on the live stage!
The Academy will add one week of classes after the recital week - classes will end on June 5th.
All participants and attendees will be required to follow all State of CT guidelines as directed by Academy Staff and Theater Personnel at The Klein.
* Guidelines subject to change per State of CT mandate and/or at the discretion of The Klein Memorial Auditorium.
Tickets are now on sale at The Klein Memorial Auditorium Box Office!
A ticket purchase per show grants that Individual access to all scenes/dances in that show.
A single Recital ticket purchase (for any Recital age group) gives that Individual access to all scenes/dances in any Recital across all age groups!
Furthermore each Academy Student will be given a personalized complimentary VIP All Access Pass to attend as many scenes/dances as they wish at no cost across the 7-day schedule!
